Why live in Gravesend and Meopham?

Gravesend is situated in the Northwest corner of Kent on the River Thames, only 25 miles from central London.  Kent's Thameside area, which incorporates Gravesend and Dartford features Europe's densest concentration of regeneration projects aiming to provide 30,000 new homes, 60,000 new jobs and 100,000 commercial properties. Gravesend Borough council is at the forefront of regeneration and has been awarded 'Beacon Status' for town centre development in 2001. A significant impact has been made on the town's appearance and perception. The council has invested in the restoration and reuse of buildings, the improvement of public spaces and development of arts and culture. It has much to offer visitors, residents and businesses alike.

Meopham and Surrounding Areas

Meopham is a large rural parish with a population of approximately 9500. It is situated 5 miles south of Gravesend and the River Thames. Meopham has 4 main greens; Culverstone Green, Harvel Green, Hook Green and Meopham Green. It is on Meopham Green that cricket has been played since 1778. It is overlooked by popular public houses and Meopham Windmill built in 1801. The Parish of Meopham possesses a wealth of historic buildings, greens, and a country park. It boasts a wide range of facilities including primary and secondary schools, pubs and restaurants, medical centre, library, churches and railway station.
